NBC'S "INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW" SPECIAL BROADCAST SET TO AIR JAN. 31, 2010, 3 P.M. (EST)

Did you miss the in-person opportunity to see the glitz-and-glamour of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2010? Or, for those that attended, have you lost that vision of that "dream vehicle" because there were too many from which to choose? To answer these questions and provide many more eye-opening experiences, NBC Sports will air its one-hour "International Auto Show" special broadcast this Sunday that includes an in-depth look at dozens of the hottest vehicles on display at NAIAS 2010, as well as a personal ride-and-drive in the EcoXperience and stop at the much-anticipated Electric Avenue.

The NAIAS officials are proud of the partnership with NBC Sports and are excited the NAIAS will be showcased on the national special for the seventh consecutive year. The special, which will air on Sunday, January 31 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 2:00 p.m. Central Time, and Noon Pacific Time, will feature the finest production and concept vehicles from NAIAS 2010 with a focus on smaller fuel efficient vehicles and automotive design, as well as technical advancements for vehicles of the future.

NBC Sports personalities Bill Weber, Marty Snider, Kelli Stavast and Phil LeBeau will provide millions of potential car buyers with an up-close and personal look at some of the world's most fascinating vehicles. WDIV-TV Local 4, the official local broadcast partner for the NAIAS and the NBC affiliate in Detroit, will air the show locally. The show will feature highlights from NAIAS 2010 Press Preview and also include footage from Industry Preview.

The NAIAS 2010 saw nearly 715,000 public day attendees, an increase of 65,000 over the 2009 show. In addition, the 2010 NAIAS welcomed journalists from more than 60 countries, broadening the show's global coverage over 2009 totals of nearly 50 countries. The annual NAIAS Charity Preview black-tie event raised more than $2 million for 12 children's charities throughout Metro Detroit and featured a performance by Detroit-based, national recording artists, The Romantics.

Entering its 22nd year as an international event, the North American International Auto Show is among the most prestigious auto shows in the world and is one of the largest media events in North America. The NAIAS is the only auto show in the United States to earn an annual distinguished sanction of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles, the Paris-based alliance of automotive trade associations and manufacturers from around the world. The NAIAS Web site can be accessed at www.naias.com.
