Christian Hosoi Lines Up His Second Consecutive Gold Medal in the Skateboard Park Legends Final

In its second year as a medaled event, the Skateboard Park Legends Final continued to impress and delight the judges and fans as some of the most influential skaters gathered together to bring their best tricks to X Games 16. Christian Hosoi ruled the course as he won back-to-back gold medals. Silver medal went to Chris Miller, who also took second in 2009.

"I dedicate this win to my mom who passed away a few weeks ago," said Hosoi. "I know she's with me, and I had a great day today doing what I love."

An inspiration to fans and skaters of all ages, the five legends easily took to the spacious course with its street feel. During the five runs, Hosoi shredded the competition with clean lines and cool transfers, including the backside to frontside ollie, laid back slide and a crowd-pleasing front side ollie out of the top of the bank. Miller impressed with several huge front side airs, and his smooth style, speed and air had him hanging on to the number two spot for another year.

"I started my own skate business because I never contemplated the fact that I would be able to keep skating at this age," Miller said. "I continued skating to share with my kids, never thinking that I would get an X Games medal."

"The X Games is the superbowl of skateboarding," said Hosoi. "To have medals now is awesome. Back in the day, we got ribbons. What other sport is there where you can get the old guys together and get a big crowd who is excited to see what you can still do."

Steve Caballero's smooth, consistent ride landed him the bronze, his first X Games medal.
