MIAMI – (Jan. 28, 2016) – Miami-based technology and multimedia company Motorsport.com, today announced the appointment of leading motorsport business figure, Zak Brown, as non-executive chairman.

In his role, Brown will provide commercial guidance to the company’s industry-leading motorsport digital platform, Motorsport.com, applying his broad knowledge and business acumen to support Motorsport.com in its continued growth.

“Motorsport.com is an exciting global leader in quality motorsport content, breaking new ground in website traffic with comprehensive worldwide media coverage of the sport,” said Brown.

“The media is a fundamental part of any sport and I have a great deal of respect for the motorsport media in particular. They feed the lifeblood of our sport – the fans – enhancing their enjoyment through first-class content and commentary, so I am delighted to help Motorsport.com through my passion for the commercial side of the sport grow the business and showcase the sport to the maximum audience.

“While I will have no involvement on the editorial side, gaining a closer understanding of the digital and social agenda will be hugely valuable for me,” added Brown. “My involvement will give me a deeper appreciation of a major media outlet’s approach to these critical channels for consumers.”

Brown will counsel Motorsport.com’s worldwide business operations and the strategic business development of 15 international news bureaus in 11 native languages.

“Zak’s involvement strengthens our position as the most respected and most viewed motorsport digital media platform in the world,” said Chris Eschenburg, president of Motorsport.com. “Zak’s guidance to our company will help leverage our global business as the most valuable, trusted and recommended motorsport media platforms today.

“The appointment of Zak clearly reflects our commitment to future growth across all our digital platforms while strategically aligning our company with business partnerships via our worldwide network,” Eschenburg added. “Zak will provide an experienced and credible voice, ensuring our strategy and direction are aligned while supporting future business growth.”
