Motorsport.com launches Latin American operations including Spanish-language website

MIAMI – (March 3, 2015) – Motorsport.com, the premier source for online multimedia motor sports coverage, today announced the launch of its Latin American (LATAM) operations, including a dedicated Spanish-language website featuring up-to-the-minute news, digital images, and video library from more than 100 racing series.
The expansion into Latin America targets the nearly 470 million people speaking Spanish as native language and allows Motorsport.com to expand its audience and is an important first step toward increasing the company’s involvement and support of the fastest growing community in the U.S.

News Veteran Mercado To Lead Latin American Operations
Motorsport.com today announced the appointment of José L. Mercado as editor of its newly formed Latin America (LATAM) operations, Motorsport.com – Mexico. In his new role, Mercado will oversee the launch of the company’s Spanish-specific website covering North, South and Central America.
Mercado, 36, joins Motorsport.com having served as an editorial director and web content manager for such iconic brands as Yahoo, Eurosport, ESPN and one of the most visited sites in Spanish, Eluniversal.com.mx.
