New Attesa venue to boast two road courses on same site

A brand new 2,360-acre ‘recreational motorsports destination’ is to be built in Pinal County, Arizona – including two high-level FIA/FIM-spec road courses on the same site.

Attesa will feature two, 2.6-mile road courses, a karting track, a driver experience centre and a multi-surface racing and event area.

The complex will also feature a private airport with a 6,000-foot-long runway. A private club and residential community will also be built.

Dan Erickson, principal of Danrick Builders who are behind the project, said: “Attesa will be the optimum racing entertainment destination that will draw guests from all over the world, driving new jobs and contributing taxes to local economies.

“Our model is incomparable to any other development in the United States. We’ll combine speed, luxury experiences and motorsports opportunities for individuals from all walks of life.”

Designed by renowned UK-based race track engineering firm Apex Circuit Design, Attesa’s two, full-size race tracks will meet international FIA and FIM certifications, offering first-rate motorsports and performance-driving experiences.

All major sports car, stock car, IndyCar and motorcycle series will be eligible to race at Attesa. The karting circuit will be built to FIA/CIK specifications.

The track’s builders claim it will create an economic engine for the region, become a global magnet for entertainment, thought-leadership for transportation design innovation, and educational partnerships with universities conducting automotive research and development.

Danrick Builders recently filed an entitlement application in Pinal County and has met with city, county, state and federal officials as well as immediate area neighbours to discuss and approve the development. The company expects to break ground in 2017.

“The Pinal County Board of Supervisors is 100 per cent behind this project,” said Tim Kanavel, Pinal County economic development programme manager. “The Attesa community will be a complement to the nearby Nissan and Volkswagen test tracks.

“We are creating the centre of automotive excellence in Arizona and that will be right here in Pinal County. Attesa will be a huge benefit to our existing tourism industry, furthering Pinal County’s desire to be a destination county.”
