PRI Trade Show Week Kicks Off Big As Crowds Pack Special Events, Conferences

ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 7, 2010) -- The 2010 PRI Trade Show Week kicked off in fine fashion Tuesday as large crowds turned out for each of the three special events being run in advance of the opening day of the show on Thursday at the Orange County Convention in Orlando, Florida. The International Council of Motorsport Sciences (ICMS) annual Congress, the Advanced Engineering Technology Conference (AETC) and the Asphalt Stock Car Setup Seminar all saw exceptional turn-outs on Tuesday as a lead-in to the PRI Trade Show that will run Dec. 9-11.

The ICMS Congress, the world's leading motorsports safety organization, attracted attendees from all over the world, including four different continents as the congress addressed the most pressing safety issues in the sport. Dr. Hugh Scully, the North American delegate to the FIA Safety Council, chaired the event.

"Medical personnel from all over the world come together here at the IMCS congress," said Bob Hubbard, a long-time PRI exhibitor and the inventor of the world-famous HANS device. "As an equipment producer, it's the best place to learn about the medical side of racer safety. It's the forum where international safety concerns are examined and discussed."

Circle Track Racing Engine Technology was the featured theme for this year's AETC and it proved to be immensely popular.

"We've had a great turnout and the interaction and networking has been fantastic," said conference organizer Brian Reese, of the Comp Performance Group. "Attendees can expect to do a lot of learning here with the latest toys and tricks of the trade featuring technology that hasn't even been introduced to the public yet."

The event proved to be extremely popular among hundreds of race engine builders in attendance.

"It's been a fantastic event," said Lee Carucci, of Power-Tec. "It's a great fit with the PRI Trade Show where we basically take this technology right to the show floor. This conference gives us the chance to meet with our suppliers, as well as our customers -- basically, it's both supply and demand. It gives us the ability to get a lot of done in a short period of time."

Advanced Racing Suspensions' Asphalt Stock Car Setup Seminar attracted a packed roomful of attendees from across the nation to discuss all facets of chassis set-up with Late Model specialist Freddie Query.

"We've had attendees from Canada to Florida to California here this week," said Corey Filip, of Advanced Racing Suspensions.

"It's a great opportunity for our attendees to learn from one of the top specialists in the field in Freddie Query, who's fresh off a one-two finish at the Snowball Derby. The PRI Trade Show is the perfect setting for this event with all the latest technology available here.

It's a great combination of parts and people." Nearly 40,000 racing business people from all 50 states, and 65 countries, are expected to be in attendance this year's PRI Show to get current with the latest in racing technology courtesy of the 1,000 motorsports companies introducing their new lines in racing products, machining equipment, motorsport engineering solutions and more. The event is widely viewed as the three biggest business days in auto racing. For more information, go to www.performanceracing.com/tradeshow.
