MIDDLESBOROUGH - British Porsche team Red Line Racing with Irwin Industrial Tools has unveiled one of the strongest driver line-ups in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup for 2008 after signing Patrick Huisman and David Saelens for the coming season.

After a debut season in the Supercup in 2007, the Middlesborough based team is expanding to a two-car squad and team boss Simon Leonard is elated to have secured the services of Patrick Huisman, the most successful driver in Supercup history, to join Saelens in the team.

"We are really going for it this year," said Leonard. "Last year we established Red Line Racing in the Supercup and now we want to win races and challenge for the championship. We've got two of the best and most respected Supercup drivers and I'm thrilled that we have attracted drivers of the calibre of David and Patrick."

Saelens goes into his second season with the team and has finished in the championship top six in each of the last four years. Huisman, meanwhile, joins Red Line Racing as the most successful Supercup racer in the championship's history. He has been champion four times and has won 24 races in a decade at the top of the Supercup.

"We've got a fabulous opportunity for 2008 and I am indebted to Irwin Industrial Tools for backing the team. Just like Porsche, Irwin is a premium brand and so the Supercup programme, with its global exposure, is an ideal fit for Irwin."

Alongside the Supercup programme, Red Line Racing will defend its 2007 Carrera Cup GB titles with a three-car team and expects to confirm its driver line-up shortly. "It is good that a team like ours can make the step from the Carrera Cup GB into the Porsche Supercup and we are very keen to defend our Carrera Cup overall, pro-am and team titles."
