Honda's brand new 3X model coincided with the latest JTCC round at their home track in Suzuka.

Kurosawa took the opportunity to snatch a double pole and win in race one.

Motoyama overcame a power steering problem which had befallen the Nissan driver in the first heat and bounced back with a win in race two.

In the point standings Kurosawa, who will carry 50kg of ballast in the next round at Mine in July, takes the lead from Motoyama by eight points.
