Another pole position for Richard Westbrook!

The Racing Team Morellato driver was the fastest in qualifying at Nurburgring, for the Porsche Supercup race during F1 Grand Prix. Things went well too for the Morellato Stars Team, with Colin Mc Rae and Kristian Ghedina.

"When you watch him drive, he really makes you think it's easy. He's amazing" said an impressed spectator after watching Richard Westbrook in the qualifying session.

Impressive for sure : the Racing Team Morellato driver only needed 8 minutes during the 45 minutes of the qualifying to get the pole position-- In only 4 laps, Richard Westbrook secured first position on the grid, lapping the circuit in 2:02.796s and undercutting last year's best time by three-tenths of a second. Second pole position in a row for the 30-years-old British driver.

"If every qualifying session could go as well-- The Team had prepared a really nice car, very neutral and easy to drive. I was fast from the beginning, so I only ran 4 laps. This is good, because I've used only one set of tyres, and I managed to save a new set for the race, where everybody else used 2 sets. So now it's the same old story: make a good start, hopefully better than in Bahrain and Imola, and finish the job!

"Satisfaction also for the Morellato Stars Team drivers. The former World Rally Champion Colin Mc Rae finished his first Porsche Supercup Qualifying on position 22 with a gap of 3.4 seconds on the leader.

"Things are slowly going better, but I still have a long way to go before I can be quick. I will use the basics set-ups for the race. I'm just trying to improve, little by little. Because the last thing I want is to make a mistake. To be here, in Nurburgring, for this week-end of Grand Prix is really fun. And now comes the even better part: the race! We'll have fun tomorrow (Sunday)--"

Right behind Colin Mc Rae on the grid will be the other Morellato Stars Team driver: Kristian Ghedina, the most successful Italian downhill skier of all time, who just retired from ski competition.

"Things went much, much better today. I knew the track a little, and I start to understand the car : what are the better lines, how to brake. But I still have so many things to think about. Tomorrow, I just want to finish the race. I don't think I will be able to overtake someone, I think it's safer to stay behind and to keep learning. So my objective is just to go faster tomorrow than today, just like I was faster today than in practice. 1 or 2 seconds faster in the race would be perfect."

The race starts tomorrow (Sunday), at 11H50. "Eurosport" broadcasts it live from 11.45am.
