FORT WORTH-DALLAS (March 27, 2000) - When more than 200,000 race fans arrive at Texas Motor Speedway next week, they will be enjoying more than just great racing at the superspeedway and new dirt track. The size of the speedway facility creates some interesting fun facts for fans:
*EIGHT IS ENOUGH - Eight Texas Stadiums - home of the Dallas Cowboys - will fit in the infield of Texas Motor Speedway.
*BIG BURGER - If all the hamburgers served in one year at the speedway were stacked, it would be taller than a 74-story building.
*FILL 'ER UP - Enough Coca-Cola, Naya water, coffee, and hot chocolate are consumed each year the speedway to fill the 34,000-gallon Texas-shaped pool at Lone Star Tower Clubhouse.
*DOG DAYS - If you lined up end-to-end all the hot dogs consumed at the speedway in a year*it would stretch around the 1.5-mile oval*SIX TIMES. That's nine miles!
*TAKE A BREAK - The speedway offers nearly 2,500 toilets with two women's fixtures for every men's toilet.
*CRUSHING THOUGHT - The front grandstand is constructed of 2-million pounds of aluminum and 15,000 tons of steel. The aluminum used could produce 61 million Coca-Cola cans.
*AND ON THAT NOTE - What do rock music performers matchbox 20, Jewel, No Doubt, The Rolling Stones, Smashing Pumpkins, and Counting Crows have in common with country western music performers Vince Gill, Charlie Daniels Band, Hank Williams, Jr., Leann Rimes, Travis Tritt and Randy Travis? - They have all performed in concert at Texas Motor Speedway.
