10. The famous Exhibition Place skyline with a massive variety of cars at the start of the Pirelli World Challenge race in Toronto: Porsche, Cadillac, Ferrari, Viper and Audi all in one frame. That's what we like to see.

9. Playstation's GT Academy has produced a successful breed of gamers-to-racers including young Brit Jann Mardenborough who won for the first time in GP3 this season. If I went from sitting in my living room playing Gran Turismo to winning on the world stage at Hockenheim, I'd react this way too. Well done.

8. The crash heard around the world...for about half a day. An off like this is actually not that easy to get, even if it happens in front of you. It all happens so fast. Great reaction from the photographer to get this tack sharp as well.

7. Normally this is a wide angle shot we love at Hockenheim, but those empty seats downgrade this to a seventh place. Bonus points for the jetliner and contrails.

6. Pit lane photos are almost always full of action, with lots going on. And in this case, there's a bit of the unusual as well. From the looks of it, the dirty and dust came from a harmless off just prior to this pit stop, creating a bizarre plume of dust under the car when it was lifted and worked on. Looks like this Ferrari is hovering.

5. Consider this your halfway point visual interlude.

4. The supremely iconic backdrop to the IndyCars last weekend at Toronto. This picture makes itself. Outstanding.

3. Parc fermé is not always that visually pleasing (think empty garages, drab pit walls, etc.) but Hockenheim has that old 90s feel to it and we hope it never changes (but it will now that we've said this publicly). This is a perfect opportunity to "go wide" and get some atmosphere in there (people looking out the windows from above, the car, the people in the background...) And Nico's body language really makes this picture.

2. Fire is just cool. Look at it. It's cool.

1. If you watched the German GP on Sunday, you could kind of see this one coming couldn't you? The first corner at the start of any race is where almost all photographers pile together to get the grouped cars at the start, and of course the mayhem that sometimes happens...there you go. Worked like a charm.
