Integra finished 20th in the NASA US Touring Car Championship (USTCC) race held at the San Jose Grand Prix on
July 30, 2005.
"We worked hard for our 20th place finish and were complimented by many of the other teams and fans for putting on a great show!" said Mills. The NASA touring car group was the 2nd most popular group next to the Champ Cars. "We made many new friends over the weekend and even put some to work with our race team," smiled Mills. "Our car is a little outdated but we hope to move into a newer car as soon as possible," mentioned car owner Clyde Flewellen.
"I commend the promoters, Taylor Woodrow, The Canary Fund and the city of San Jose for putting on an outstanding Grand Prix weekend, I hope to be back next year. I have been to many races both as a spectator and driver and have never met such an enthusiastic group of fans," added Mills. It was great exposure for our team and we hope it might provide us with additional sponsorship", said Flewellen.
"We would like to thank our primary sponsor, Weyman Watson of The Motorsports Collective for giving us this opportunity to spread our initiative of African-American participation in motorsports. There were 3 African-American drivers in the NASA USTCC race," beamed Mills.
The San Jose US Touring Car race will be aired on Speed TV in the month of September 2005, check your local listings.
