Los Angeles, California – Red Bull Global Rallycross returns to Las Vegas for its exciting November 4 season finale, featuring an all-new track design at the Village Lot on the Strip. The race marks the fourth consecutive year that Red Bull GRC has closed out its season in Las Vegas.
“Each season we raise the bar at our Las Vegas season finale, and this year’s event will be our finest yet with our return to the Village Lot on the Las Vegas Strip,” said Colin Dyne, Red Bull GRC CEO. “With championship battles going down to the wire in both Supercar and Lites, we are looking forward to the most action-packed finale yet.”
Dramatic conclusion
Superstar Ken Block has won each of the past two Las Vegas races, and currently leads the championship by 13 points over X Games Austin gold medalist Scott Speed. As the season heads toward its dramatic conclusion, nine drivers still remain in the hunt for the title. Last year’s season finale came down to the last lap, with Joni Wiman’s second-place finish just enough to snatch the title away from Block.
SLS Las Vegas, the Strip’s newest resort and casino, joins Red Bull GRC for the first time as the official hotel for the 2015 season finale, and will kick off the event with an official Red Bull GRC driver autograph session at SLS Las Vegas at 8PM on Monday, November 2.
Drivers expected to fight for the championship in this year’s event include Block, Speed, two- time Red Bull GRC champion Tanner Foust, Formula 1 veteran Nelson Piquet Jr., and two- time Supercar race winner Patrik Sandell. Competitors also include 2014 Las Vegas podium finisher Bucky Lasek, action sports legend Brian Deegan, and defending series champion Wiman.
