Global Rallycross returns to Port of Los Angeles
Season’s third doubleheader presented by Subaru Tecnica International
Los Angeles, California – Red Bull Global Rallycross and Subaru of America, Inc., in conjunction with Subaru Tecnica International, today announced that Subaru Tecnica International will be the presenting sponsor of the rallycross doubleheader event at the Port of Los Angeles this September 12-13.
Special guest drivers Travis Pastrana and David Higgins will join the Red Bull Global Rallycross field in top-spec Subaru rallycross cars for both races. The pair will compete as teammates to Subaru Rally Team USA’s full-time Red Bull GRC drivers Sverre Isachsen and Bucky Lasek for the eighth and ninth rounds of the 2015 championship.
The back-to-back races will be the first time since 2012 that Subaru has raced four cars in the championship field. Pastrana and Higgins each have a long history with Subaru and have won a combined 11 national stage rally championships in the United States, plus multiple X Games medals.
A thrilling sport
“We expect our Los Angeles rounds to be an incredible display of everything that makes rallycross such a thrilling sport, and pivotal to this year’s championship. With Subaru Tecnica International on board as the weekend’s presenting sponsor, we expect this to be one of our finest events in series history,” said Red Bull GRC CEO Colin Dyne.

Co-developed by Vermont SportsCar and Subaru Tecnica International, the WRX STI rallycross car features a spec 2.0L Subaru BOXER engine producing nearly 600HP, a Sadev six-speed sequential transmission, all-wheel drive, and METHOD Race Wheels. Capable of 0-60 mph in two seconds, rallycross cars compete on tracks composed of both tarmac and dirt, and includes a large jump built into the track. The competition features a series of heat racing, leading into a ten car final event.
