ASC Motorsports Prepares for 2006 Rolex Grand Am Season
Tiffin, Ohio - December 6, 2005 ASC Motorsports has high expectations for 2006 as the team prepares for its second season of competition in the Rolex Grand American Sports Car Series. With the 2005 season focused primarily on development and testing, ASC Motorsports has its sights set on podium finishes in the 2006 season.
The engineers at Arnold Machine, Inc. have thoroughly studied the data from the past racing season and applied those results. Mechanically, the car is undergoing a complete rebuild with many new components and design improvements, and the car is being re-bodied to the C6 Corvette specs.
The motor program is progressing. Gressman Powersports is fully committed to the ASC Motorsports racing program and continuing to develop the LS6.
Team owner Zach Arnold commented on the upcoming racing season, "The team is very excited about the new season. Having the experience of 2005 under our belts, we can't wait to get back to Daytona."
Crew chief Nick Silardi is also ready to get the new season underway after assisting the Chase DP team in their top ten finish at VIR. Data and race engineer Marcus Haselgrove will also be back with the team.
ASC Motorsports will get the new season underway with the Daytona test sessions January 4-7.
ASC Motorsports is currently interviewing potential drivers for the 2006 Rolex Grand Am GT season. The team has opportunities for a competitive, funded driver for the season as well as co-drivers for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the 6 Hours at the Glen, and the season finale 9-hour race at Miller Motorsports Park.
