Can the Dallenbachs Win at the 2006 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona?

Veteran Pike's Peak International Hill Climb car racer, Paul Dallenbach and his brother NASCAR's Wally Dallenbach Jr., are returning to the 44th running of the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, at one of the most famous and daunting race tracks in the world, the Daytona International Speedway.

Paul and Wally Dallenbach Jr have together joined the Robinson Race Team for a second year, hoping to better their 19th place finish in 2005. They will race alongside teammates Darin Brassfield and George Robinson in a Lexus Riley race car. This is Paul's eighth appearance, finishing second in 1998 and Wally Jr. has also raced at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona several times, winning four.

"As the race season kick-off, the 24 Hours at Daytona is an intense race on a grueling course, but with such a great field of competitors, I love to participate," remarked Paul Dallenbach.

The Dallenbachs are a staple to championship racing with Wally Dallenbach Sr. being inducted to the Colorado Motorsports Hall of Fame, for his accomplishments in NASCAR and as a CART steward, Wally Jr.'s participation in the NASCAR Busch Series and Paul's accomplishments over the years including Rookie of the Year in the VW Cup Series and Pro Atlantic Series and classics from the SCCA, Trans-Am, Indy Lights, Pike's Peak International Hill Climb, Escort World, CHCA, ASA Stock Car series and the Formula Mazda Series.

The history and tradition of the Rolex 24 at Daytona returns for another round-the-clock marathon of sports car racing at the 44th annual Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 26-29, 2006 in Daytona, Florida. Speed Channel will carry 13 hours of live race coverage. Last year, a record number of race fans were on hand to witness a star-studded lineup of international racing champions in a field that included a record 29 Daytona Prototypes, the premier class of the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series. This year, the field of 75 total race cars includes 33 Daytona Prototypes and 42 GT Machines.
