Rain, cool weather challenges rRlex 24 teams; Porsche teams lead two classes and have lead the third class after four hours of the Daytona enduro classic.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- January 31 -- In a wet, but activity-filled first four hours of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Porsche-powered teams lead both the GT and SGS classes, and have run one-two several times with Daytona Prototypes.

The two-car Brumos Racing team, fielding Fabcar prototypes powered by Porsche, have run in the top five for most of the race, with the #59 Hurley Haywood/J.C. France/Tommy Riggins/Scott Sharp taking the lead on lap #40, followed by the #58 Red Bull Brumos Porsche Fabcar of David Donohue/Darren Law/Sascha Maassen/Lucas Luhr. Currently, after four hours, the Brumos cars are running six and seventh.

In the GT class, the #44 Orbit Porsche 911 GT3 RS, with Johnny Mowlem/Mike Fitzgerald/Robin Liddell/Joe Policastro/Jay Policastro sharing the driving duties, has a one-lap lead over the leading BMW. The GT pole-sitting Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche GT 3 Cup racer of Johannes van Overbeek/Seth Neiman/Lonnie Pechnik/Peter Cunningham/Mike Rockenfeller had a radiator/cooling problem in hour #2, but have worked their way back into eighth place. Last year's winning entry, the #66 The Racer's Group Porsche GT 3 RS of Kevin Buckler/Patrick Long/Timo Bernhard/Jorg Bergmeister, has had a number of problems including two flat tires and a broken shock. That car is currently in tenth place.

In the new SGS class, The #91 Doncaster Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car of Jean-Francois Dumoulin/Robert Julien/Greg Pootmans/Marc Lieb has a narrow six second lead over SGS pole-sitters #38 TPC Racing Porsche GT3 Cup race of Randy Pobst/ Marc Bunting/Andy Lally/John Littlechild/Michael Levitas. The second Doncaster entry, the #71 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car of Dave Lacey/Greg Wilkins/Mark Wilkins/Tom Nastasi/Kenny Wilden, is third in SGS.

The weather forecast is for rain for the rest of the event, which ends Sunday, February 1 at 1:00 PM EST.
