Workman to Round Out Synergy Racing Rolex 24 Line-up

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla (February 2, 2005) -- Jason Workman, of Atlanta, Ga., has been added to the Synergy Racing driver line-up in the No. 86 BMW Picchio Daytona Prototype for this weekend's Rolex 24 At Daytona.

"I am very pleased to be joining the Synergy Racing team for this race," Workman said. "They have put together a good, solid team, and I look forward to contributing to their team success at Daytona. I drove this same car last year so I am very comfortable in making a return run at this legendary event."

Workman co-drove the BMW Picchio to a seventh-place finish in the Daytona Prototypes class at last year's Rolex 24.

"Last year, I noted Jason's impressive performance and I wanted him back this year," said Cole Scrogham, Synergy Racing team owner. "He did a fantastic job during last year's rain-soaked race, and I look to Jason to be a key ingredient to our team success. He is a welcomed addition to our driver line-up."

Workman will partner with Steve Marshall, Peyton Sellers and Archie Urciuoli in the No. 86 Daytona Prototype.

Workman, 27, has competed in the Daytona Prototype division as well as other premier sports car series. In the late 1990s, Workman campaigned as a young rookie driver in Europe and is one of the few Americans who scored impressive results in the competitive European racing arena. He won the 1999 Scandinavian Formula Ford 2000 Championship. He dominated the series and no driver before or since Workman's campaign has equaled his series supremacy. It was this performance that launched his professional career upon his return to the United States.

The Rolex 24 At Daytona is the most prestigious sports car race in North America, drawing top-name drivers from around the world and every racing discipline, including the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, the IRL IndyCar Series and Formula One.

Practice gets underway at Daytona International Speedway on Thursday morning, and the first round of qualifying will be held Thursday afternoon.

SPEED Channel will broadcast more than 14 hours of the historic 24-hour race live from Daytona, with coverage kicking off at noon on Saturday, Feb. 5 and continuing through the first seven hours of the race. After a one-hour break, the live broadcast will resume at 8 p.m. and continue until 11 p.m. SPEED will return to the action at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6, running through the checkered flag and victory lane celebration.

Live timing and scoring from the race will be available throughout the entire 24 hours online at www.grandamerican.com. Additional information on the Rolex 24 At Daytona, including ticket pricing and special events surrounding the race, is online at www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com.
