Daytona 24: TRG Porsches hour six report

TRG Porsches Running 7th, 11th, 17th and 31st at Six Hour Mark in Daytona

Daytona Beach, Florida m- TRG's four Porsches are currently running in qualified in 7th, 11th, 17th and 31st, in the 44th running of the Grand American Rolex Series presented by Crown Royal Reserve Rolex 24 at Daytona.Stepane Ortelli started the number 66 Comfort Systems/TRG/Porsche 997 and was able to move up steadily. "We have an uncomfortable brake pedal, it just doesn't feel like it should. The car also seems to be down a little on power. We lost a lot of track time this weekend due to different things so we are a little behind." The number 66 is currently in seventh in GT.

Bill Keith is happy with his run. "I had a good run, there are a lot of DPs out there. In practice you never really have all of them on the track at once, this took a little getting used to. We have a spotter on the tower and that is a huge help, it really makes it a pleasure to drive." The number 67 Porsche is currently 17th.

Jim Pace started the number 68 Porsche and was happy with his speed and his competitors. "The key is to get through and behave in traffic. The DP cars are really driving heads up and giving room. It is early in the race and we have a long way to go. We are looking to be steady and keep it on the track." After turning over to Jim Lowe, the car met with some tough luck and he struck the wall. The 68 car is currently 31st and in the garage for repairs.

Mark Herrington is settling into the 24 hour pace. "It is a little hectic out there with all of the traffic, it takes some getting used to. Once you get in the rhythm and the pace it all sorts itself out. We are running a good race and we have long way to go, everything is good." The number 69 car is currently running 11th.

Speed TV is broadcasting more than 14 hours of the 24 Hours at Daytona. The first segment will air with the start of the race on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. EST and run air until 6:00 p.m., they will return at 8:00 p.m. and run until 11:00 p.m. On Sunday the show will resume at 8:00 a.m. and run the finish at 12:30 p.m.
