Grease Monkey Racing Finishes Sixth in the SGS Class at the Paul Revere 250 at Daytona International.

Los Angeles, Ca., July 5, 2004---Grease Monkey Racing overcame adversity to finish sixth in the SGS class at the Paul Revere 250 at Daytona International. Lead driver, Gene Sigal, was joined for the second time this season by Adolfo Castillo JR, or Pato as he is known, from Guatemala. Problems during practice and qualifying meant that the team had to pull the motor out to make a last minute gear change. These problems meant that Gene Sigal was only able to do a few laps in qualifying, which resulted in starting on the last row.

When the green flag dropped, Sigal didn't waste any time moving his way to the front. By the end of the first lap, Sigal was lying second in SGS! Unfortunately, he was deemed to have past a few cars before the start-finish line and was promptly issued a driver through penalty, which dropped the car back to tenths. After the penalty was served, Sigal continued climbing his way back to the front but struggled with a loose handling car.

"The car started getting really loose towards the end of my stint, we made some changes before Pato got in" said Sigal. "The penalty at the start really put us behind the eight-ball, I was really hoping for a yellow so that we could catch up to the field. Overall the team did an awesome job all weekend, we dropped the engine twice during the weekend, the boys had less then five hours of sleep all weekend," continued Sigal.

Adolfo Castillo JR (Pato) made his second Grand-Am start with Grease Monkey Racing at Daytona. He ran during the second half of the two and a half hours race. Because of a few full course yellows, he ended up battling with a whole bunch of other SGS Porsches during the last dozen laps. Pato made a couple brilliant passes during that time, some for position and some with cars a lap ahead.

"The car was fantastic during my stint, the crew made some adjustments during the pit stop and everything was perfect," said an excited Castillo after the race. "It was such a fun race, I really enjoyed battling with the class leader and the other cars. Daytona is amazing, the banking, the lights, the speed, this whole experience was great! I'm looking forward to coming back here in February for the 24-Hours," continued Castillo.

Grease Monkey Racing would like to thank Bravha, RPM Aceleracion, Tre Fratelli, La Red Deportiva, Car Graphic, MB Quart, Sparco, Motul, JM Racing, Autodromo Los Volcanes, and Avantikart.com for their support. With a little over a month before the next race at Mid Ohio, the team will spend some time testing and getting ready to improve on the pair of sixth place finishes.
