Marino Franchitti - Conclusion of Official 3-day Daytona Test
Marino Franchitt returned home following his three days of official testing in the Grand American Rolex Series official test days in Daytona Beach, Florida.
On the first day he and one of his co-drivers, Milka Duno, were the only two CITGO drivers present at Daytona International Speedway, which gave them both the opportunity to begin setting-up the Riley Pontiac before their team mates, Dario Franchitti and Kevin McGarrity arrived the next day.
After eight practice sessions over the three days of running, Marino was very upbeat about the team's performance, "The whole test makes me feel very encouraged for the race. We are almost right on the pace, now we are just making the car comfortable for the long stints, and once the team get back to the raceshop and make a couple of minor adjustments the car will I am sure be very competitive.
"It's always fun to get in a race car for the first time in a new year, but I'm really upbeat about winning the Rolex 24 this time out - and picking up a watch for doing it!"
Marino is now undergoing his annual training session before the race event gets under way later this month from 26th - 29th January.
