Gidley & Ten Motorsports Impress In Daytona Grand Am Test

Memo Gidley ended the last Grand Am Daytona Prototype practice session in second place, a mere 2/10's of a second behind Scott Pruett to compete a stunning three day run for the rookie Ten Motosports Team. The number 19 Air Force Reserve BMW powered Riley never finished outside of the top five in all nine sessions over the three test days for next month's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. A total of 74 cars took part in the test.

"Like everyone, we had our ups and downs but the team always rose to the occasion and we found our way to the front in every session. I couldn't be more pleased and really look forward to joining Michael, Michael and Jonathan in next my second Daytona 24 Hours next month. With all the superstar drivers from NASCAR, The IRL, Champcar and Grand AM joining some of the best and best known drivers around...we didn't attract all that much attention upon our arrival. I certainly think we didn't leave here unnoticed. Rob Finlay and the Cameron brothers have put together an exceptional team and I believe we have a very good shot at bringing the Air Force Reserve #19 home on the podium a few weeks from now. It's going to be a great race and season" said Gidley.

The team took delivery of the car at Homestead last month and turned their very first Grand Am DP laps that weekend. Ten Motorsports reunites Memo, Steve and Rick Cameron who worked together at Lynx Racing in 1997-8 where Gidley finished second and third in the Toyota Atlantic Championship. Co-Driver Michael Valiante is also a Lynx alumini.

The Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona will take place February 4-6 and can be seen live on Speed. The number 19 Air Force Reserve/Ten Motorsports BMW powered Riley Techno will be driven by Memo Gidley/Michael McDowell and will be joined by Michael Valiante and Jonathan Bomarito for the 24 Hours. All will be running in support of Make A Wish.

Memo Gidley can also be seen driving the #48 Air Force Reserve Techsport Ford Focus in the Speed Challenge World Series this season on Speed TV.
