RISING STAR DANE CAMERON CONTINUES HIS CLIMB UP THE RACING LADDER
CO-DRIVING THE BEYER RACING DAYTONA PROTOTYPE IN THE 2010 ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA

Continuing his climb up the motorsports ladder, rising star Dane Cameron moves up from a season in the 2009 Grand-Am GT class to co-drive the #2 Beyer Racing/uberwurx Chevrolet Crawford with Jared Beyer in this weekend's Rolex 24 at Daytona. Also sharing driving duties will be a trio of experienced endurance racers including Cort Wagner, Jan-Dirk Leuders and Romeo Kapudija.

The Beyer Racing team, founded by entrepreneur Jeff Beyer in 2006, completed its first Grand-Am race at Virginia International Raceway on April 27, 2008. Running a full season with a 2-car effort in 2009, the team scored a string of top-10 finishes, including 4th in Montreal at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. For 2010, Beyer Racing will focus on competing for the 2010 Grand-Am championship with a single-car program. Driving the full season will be San Antonio, Texas native Jared Beyer, a karting champion and engineering student who started racing at age 12. With two years of Grand-Am experience under his belt already, Beyer and the Beyer Racing team, backed by uberwurx, a manufacturer of premium car care products.

Cameron, who will be Beyer's teammate at Daytona, arrives at this major step in his career via an accomplished climb up through the ranks of both open-wheel and endurance racing. Last season, Cameron, a native of Sonoma, California, co-drove the #30 Racers Edge Mazda RX-8 in the full 2009 Rolex Series GT season. In 2008, Cameron drive for Genoa Racing in the ultra-competitive 2008 Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda, scoring two podium finishes, five top-5s and one pole position to finish 7th in the championship during his rookie season. In 2007, he was both series champion and Rookie of the Year in the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear with three wins, six pole positions, five podium finishes and two top-5s. As the winner of the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Driver Development Ladder scholarship, his drive in the Atlantic series was paid for by Mazda.

In 2006, Cameron was the F2000 Rookie of the Year and finished second in the championship. As a Team USA Scholarship driver, he won the 2006 Palmer Audi Winter Championship in Europe. In 2005, he was the SCCA Formula Jim Russell Series champion and Rookie of the Year. His karting career, beginning in 2000, was similarly successful, including the 2003 Jim Russell Karting 80cc Junior Shifter Championship and a 2004 finalist in the Red Bull Driver Search.

"I'm really looking forward to taking the next step in my racing career, driving at Daytona with Jared and Beyer Racing," says Cameron. "I've raced the 24 Hours at Daytona before, last year with Racers Edge, and I've raced a prototype before, co-driving with Michael Valiente in the Finlay Motorsports car in the 2007 series finale at Miller Motorsports Park. So I'm confident I can contribute to the team this weekend and with a bit of luck, hopefully we can score a good result."
