Miller Barrett Racing will start the 48th Rolex 24 At Daytona from 13th on the GT class grid. Bryce Miller of Summit, N.J., qualified the team's No. 48 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in one minute 50.662 seconds on the 3.56-mile Daytona International Speedway infield road course, for an average speed of 115.812 mph. The race is the 2010 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series season opener, staged on the series' home track in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Miller is sharing driving duty this week with Luke Hines of Essex, England, Peter Ludwig of New Paltz, N.Y. and Kevin Roush of Upland, Calif. The car is sponsored by team and driver sponsors Marquis Jet, Dietz & Watson Meats, Grand Prix Racewear, JSI Shipping, IPC Systems, TOTAL Lubricants and Wheel Enhancement.
"We've had a good beginning; we were able to find a decent baseline setup to work from and put down a lap that's inside the top 15 of the GT field. That's good enough for us to go about addressing other preparation matters on the car and prepare for the race," Miller said. "P13 should be a good place to start from for the 24, but we hope to improve the car more tonight and tomorrow. We hope we can score a win for the 48 car at the 48th Rolex 24!"
Miller Barrett Racing launched its new website today. Fans can follow this weekend's action at millerbarrett.com .
