HAYDEN BURVILL JOINS FORTUNE MARKET RACING AS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Los Angeles, November 11, 2007 -- Hayden Burvill has joined Fortune Market Racing to head up the technical department of the Daytona Prototype BMW team for the 2008 and 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series.
Hayden Burvill graduated with a BA in Industrial Design from Curtin University in Western Australia in 1985 and started his engineering racing career in the early 1990s.
One of Hayden's first racing assignments was to engineer Andrea Moda's Formula 1 team in 1992. His first experience at the highest level of racing opened doors for Hayden to work for prestigious racing manufacturers such as Allard, Reynard and G Force where he was one of the engineers that designed the famous GF01C and GF05 Indy cars.
Burvill's first experience with American racing was in 1995 when he engineered the IMSA WSC Spice Chevrolet V8 and Courage V8 for Wheelworks Racing. He started his North American open wheel adventure as an engineer in 1996 with Indy Regency Racing. Other open-wheel teams hired Hayden Burvill as their engineer between 1998 and 2002 including well-known teams such as Bradley Motorsports (IRL), Truscelli Racing (IRL), Dick Simon Racing (IRL), Team Extreme (IRL) and 310 Motoring (IRL). Hayden also engineered Sports Cars for factory teams such as Courage (Rolex 24) and Panoz Racing (ALMS).
Hayden's first experience with the Rolex Sports Car series was in 2005 when he engineered the Ferrari 360 for JMB Racing USA. In 2005 Burvill was hired by Brumos to engineer the No. 59 DP car for the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
"I am very proud to have been selected to engineer the No. 7 car for Fortune Market Racing" declared Hayden Burvill. "At Fortune Market Racing I will work with many great people, drivers and crew members that I worked with in the past and this should be one of the keys to the anticipated success of our team for the next two seasons" added Hayden.
"Hayden Burvill is the right man for the job" announced Emmanuel Lupe, Managing Director for Fortune Market Racing. "Hayden and I successfully worked together in Indy car at Dick Simon Racing and in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series in 2005 at JMB Ferrari. I am confident in his abilities to lead our technical department for the next seasons and get the results we hope for" commented Lupe.
