TALLADEGA, Ala. (April 4, 2003) -- NASCAR Winston Cup fans will be treated to a sneak peek of the excitement on tap for next month's Barber 250 at The Park when a pair of Daytona Prototypes race around the high banks of Talladega Superspeedway prior to the start of this Sunday's Aaron's 499.

Driver Scott Maxwell will slide behind the wheel of the Multimatic Ford Focus Daytona Prototype and J.C. France will run the Brumos Racing #59 Porsche-powered FABCAR Daytona Prototype around the 2.66-mile tri-oval in the moments leading up to the start of the NASCAR Winston Cup main event.

Canadian Maxwell helped pilot the Ford Focus Daytona Prototype to the class victory at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. France, grandson NASCAR founder William H.G. France, captured the overall victory with Hurley Haywood at the Nextel Grand Prix of Miami last month, putting the pair into a tie atop the driver point standings.

The Daytona Prototypes will help christen Barber Motorsports Park during its grand opening weekend, featuring the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series in the Barber 250 at The Park, May 16-18. Barber Motorsports Park is located off of I-20 just south of Talladega Superspeedway on the outskirts of Birmingham.

Tickets are currently on sale for the Barber 250 at The Park and Barber Park Twin 200s and can be purchased by calling 800-240-2300 or 205-327-RACE. Tickets are also available online at www.southtix.com. Additional information on Barber Motorsports Park can be found online at www.barbermotorsports.com.
