Orbit Racing signs von Moltke for Season Finale

Young South African driver Dion von Moltke has been turning a lot of heads in the world of professional sports cars since his arrival on the Grand Am scene at the beginning of the 2008 racing season. Orbit Racing is the latest to catch on that Dion is a key ingredient to a winning result as the team has signed von Moltke to share the #45 BMW Riley entry with team driver Ryan Dalziel. Of the opportunity Dion exudes; ""I'm really excited for the opportunity to come back into the Grand-Am Rolex Series for the series finale with Orbit racing, and to be doing it alongside Ryan Dialziel, who has a proven track record in this car, is great."

After completing his second successful season in the Grand-Am Koni Sports Car Challenge Series, where he and team mate Mike Sweeney took home three wins on the season in the seven races their pair shared their #181 VW GTi in the ST class of the series, von Moltke is up to a new challenge in the Daytona Prototype (DP) class of the Rolex Series.

Dion has already gotten his feet wet in the DP ranks earlier this season, and is now looking to utilize that opportunity to get familiar in the series and cars, for a positive result this weekend at the 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the #45 South African Airways/AIS Media BMW Riley Daytona Prototype. "I could not be in a better team to get ready to do battle in what will definitely be an exciting, hard fought race as all the Grand-am races are!" von Moltke states.

Dion is looking at the future with this opportunity as he continues to make the move up the sports car racing ranks: "We are definitely looking to end the season on top and carry the momentum into the off season as we prepare for what we look to be an even better 2010 season for us! We will have a lot of guests from South African Airways at the event so that will give us some extra motivation to be at the front to support our sponsors!"

On closing out the series season with his new co-driver, Orbit Racing driver Dalziel states; "I am really excited to team with Dion for the season finale. I have heard great things about his talent and from what I've seen already we are going to be a very strong pairing. I am really happy for Orbit Racing that we will get to the last race and I think that Dion and myself will deliver for them".
