DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - (February 2, 2001). Jon Field (Dublin, Ohio), owner/driver of InterSport Racing, will start the No. 37 Banana Joe's Island Party sponsored Judd-powered Lola B2K/10 from the second row of the grid for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Field will be co-driving with his 17-year old son, Clint, and his (Jon's) twin brother, Joel. Clint is the youngest driver to ever compete in the prestigious Rolex 24. "This is a dream come true," said Jon. "I am looking forward to racing with Joel and Clint." The fourth driver for the 24-hour race will be Carl Rosenblad of Sweden.

Jon Field has been consistently quick around the 3.56 mile road course at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla. He had the fastest lap during test days early in January and was in contention for the pole during a session plagued by wet conditions. "We hoped to have been on the pole, but for this race, it doesn't really matter that much. It's being there at the end of the 24 hours," said Field. "We're lacking a little speed down the straight, but we're good through the infield section and I think we have a good race set-up."

InterSport has also entered a second car in the Rolex 24, the No. 28 Ford-powered Riley & Scott MKIII. The car will start from 28th position and will be driven by Bruce Trenery, his son, Spencer, Patrick Van Schoote and Frank Emmett.

Eighty cars will start the Rolex 24 hour race, which begins at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, February 3, and ends at 1 p.m. on Sunday, will be telecast live on the Speedvision network.
