Your Ticket To Drive: Homestead-Miami Speedway Season Tickets Now on Sale
Season-Ticket Holders Have Opportunity to Drive Their Own Car on Speedway's 20-degree variable banking
MIAMI, FL (January 12, 2005) - Ever imagine driving your own car on the most state-of-the-art racetrack ever built? Race fans can experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by becoming a season-ticket holder for the 2005 racing season at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Season tickets to the 2005 racing season at Homestead-Miami Speedway featuring the season-opening Toyota Indy 300 and the season-ending Ford Championship Weekend are now on sale to the public. Season-ticket holders will be guaranteed seats to the Speedway's major six racing events, have access to an exclusive, reserved parking area, and enjoy savings of $65 per ticket package. Season ticket holders will also receive "Your Ticket to Drive", the opportunity to drive their own car on the Speedway's 20-degree variable banking on the morning of Sunday, March 6 prior to the Toyota Indy 300.
"We encourage fans to become season-ticket holders and guarantee their seats for the Toyota Indy 300 and Ford Championship Weekend - the toughest annual sports ticket in South Florida," said Curtis Gray, President Homestead-Miami Speedway. "Season-ticket holders also have the privilege of parking in the Red Reserved Lot located directly across from the Speedway's main entrance as well as the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of turning a lap in their own personal vehicle on the 20-degree variable banking."
The 2005 racing season at Homestead-Miami Speedway begins with the Toyota Indy 300, March 4-6, featuring the IRL IndyCar Series, the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series, and the Menards Infiniti Pro Series. The season concludes with Ford Championship Weekend, November 17-20, the season-finales for the Chase for the NASCAR Nextel Cup, as well as the NASCAR Busch and Craftsman Truck Series. Season ticket holders will be guaranteed seats to all six races as well as all practice and qualifying sessions.
The Toyota Indy 300 is the season-opener for the IRL IndyCar Series and features the same cars and drivers that race at the Indianapolis 500 including two-time Indy 500 champion and South Florida resident Helio Castroneves, defending IndyCar Series champion Tony Kanaan, and three-time Toyota Indy 300 champion Sam Hornish. Last year's Toyota Indy 300 marked the debut of the IRL IndyCar Series on the new 20-degree, variable banking that resulted in a thrilling race with Hornish edging Castroneves by just .0698 seconds.
The Rolex Sports Car Series Grand Prix of Miami, held on Saturday, March 5 during the Toyota Indy 300 weekend, features the world's fastest sports cars on the Homestead-Miami Speedway 12-turn, 2.21-mile road course. The Menards Infiniti Pro Series Miami 100 caps off a racing tripleheader at the Toyota Indy 300, March 4-6.
Ford Championship Weekend, November 17-20, features the season finales for NASCAR's three premier series. Last year, the inaugural Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup concluded at Homestead-Miami Speedway with five drivers entering the race eligible to win the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Championship. In front of a sold-out crowd at the Ford 400, Kurt Busch edged Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon in the closest championship finish in series history. The weekend also features the championship-finale races for the NASCAR Busch and Craftsman Truck Series - the Ford 200 and the Ford 300.
Season ticket packages range in price from $135 - $215, a $65 savings compared to individual tickets purchased separately.
