MCM Charges forward with New Title Sponsor

The 2009 racing season will be Matt Connolly's forth year competing in the Grand Am Rolex Series. Known throughout the paddock as one of those teams that gets results through sheer hard work and determination. The Matt Connolly Motorsports team has never had the benefits of a season long sponsor, and has had great results against world class competition in their time in the series.

The hard work and strong results are starting to bear fruit for the small team as they now announce a new long-term partner in Deland, Florida based Deltran Battery Tender Corporation. Matt Connolly Motorsports is to be known from this point forward as Battery Tender MCM Racing. DelTran Battery Tender Corporation® President/CEO Michael L. Prelec Sr. states 'We are proud to partner with Matt Connolly on this venture as the team title sponsor and in the renaming of the team to Battery Tender MCM Racing! We are looking forward to teaming up with Matt Connolly Motor sports for the 2009/2010 race seasons. Battery Tender Battery Chargers® has been looking for a way to expand its brand recognition into the automotive field; Matt Connolly's two car team along with NASCARS support should help fulfill our goal.'

Deltran Corp. is a forty-four year old family owned company that markets its line of chargers under the brand name Battery Tender. The Battery Tender chargers are recognized as the most technologically advanced chargers on the market today. Deltran also dual brands for Harley- Davidson, BMW, Lexus, and AAA Automotive.

Team Owner Matt Connolly states of the opportunity: 'This is exactly what we've been working towards since I first started in the Grand Am Series. We have shown our ability on the track, and now we can show our sponsors a great return on their investment both immediately and into the future.' Connolly is kicking off the new season with a new name, new long-term sponsor, and also a new car added to the stable. The Battery Tender MCM Racing team has added a Porsche 997 to the fold, and is very happy to announce a driving lineup for the Grand Am Rolex 24 hours of Daytona of Diego Alessi, who campaigned the full 2008 racing season with the team in their Pontiac GTO-R with several top-5 and podium finishes, Elio Marchetti and Marcello Zani also of Italy joining the father and son tandem of Jim and Bob Michaelian.

Team Driver Diego Alessi is also very excited about the new developments within the team. Alessi mentions 'I come to the Daytona 24 hour with a very confident feeling! I had a very exciting season in Rolex together with Matt and his crew, and now I am up to speed with the other drivers and teams in the Grand Am Rolex Series. When Matt told me I had the possibility to drive in a Porsche, I wanted to take this chance because I believe that car is the best solution for Daytona 24: it has good top speed and excellent reliability and because I always like to try something new. We will be a competitive blend of Italian-American drivers and, also thanks to Matt's crew skill, I am sure we can have a very consistent race!

Heading up the lineup in the teams Pontiac GTO-R for the 24 hours and the full 2009 racing season is sports car veteran Romeo Kapudija, who states of the opportunity 'It's very exciting that we kick off the Battery Tender-MCM relationship here in Daytona where the Deltran Corporation is headquartered. I would like to thank Matt Connolly and his Battery Tender MCM Racing team for the opportunity to campaign the 2009 season at such a great time for the team, the series, and my career.'
