Last weekend's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge and Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo races provided a lot of action and emotions for Al Carter and teammate Hugh Plumb. Al Carter was entered in two events on the Kansas Speedway 2.37-mile road course, round 9 of the 2013 CTSCC series with Fall-Line Motorsports, driving the No. 45 Eagle Tech / B+ Foundation / Jetset Magazine / Momo BMW M3 with Hugh Plumb and in round 2 of the 2013 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, the world's fastest one-make series.

Hugh Plumb and Al Carter did not have one of their best races of the 2013 season in Kansas. They had some issues in practice then Hugh Plumb qualified 14th, not the best performance that he anticipated before his run. Despite a great first stint from Hugh Plumb who delivered one of his action-packed super stints from 14th to 1st, Plumb started to experience some transmission issues during his stint. Hugh made the first pit top for the 45 car for fuel, tires and driver change while leading.

Al Carter took over and was motivated to potentially add another top performance to his list of racing accomplishments. Al started his stint in 4th place but unfortunately started to feel some issue with his engine. The team rolled the dice and decided to keep him out with the hopes that it would hold on until the end of the race. Sadly, it did not and the engine blew in spectacular fashion with an hour left in the race forcing Al and Hugh to finish 17th.

Carter received an invitation from Mitchum Motorsports to race one of ten Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeos at Kansas Speedway. Al fell in love right away with his luxury weekend ride and it showed on the time sheet. He was entered in the Pro class. Drivers like former 1976 Olympic Decathlon Champion Bruce Jenner and his son Burt were among the Pro Am competitors.

Carter qualified 4th for Friday night's race, the first of two scheduled races of the weekend. In race 1 Carter raced hard and moved up to second place scoring his first podium finish of the weekend. Carter came to the track Saturday afternoon to compete in race 2 with the desire to win and he did! He started 2nd on the grid and was able to take the lead of the ten car field and crossed the finish line after a 45 minute race as a Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo winner!

This exhilarating first win of the year brought a lot of joy to Al Carter and the all B+ Racing team and their sponsors. Al really loved to drive the Gallardo Super Trofeo, enjoyed the series and hopes to race in that series again this season.

The Kansas Speedway race will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 (formerly Speed) on Sunday, August 25 at 3:00 PM ET. The next CTSCC is scheduled for September 7-8 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in California.

This week is an important week in the life of B+ Racing. On Saturday, Al Carter and Hugh Plumb and Fall-Line Motorsports will be guests of BMW CCA Delaware Valley Chapter at New Jersey Motorsports Park in New Jersey. A group of B+ heroes and their families are expected to join the team and spend time with their favorite drivers at the racetrack.

On Saturday night, an auction and a diner will be held to raise money for B+. Internationally acclaimed artist Erwin Dazelle designed a poster for this event and a series of 50 limited edition prints signed and numbered by the artist will be sold during the evening. Additional racing items from MOMO, PitStop Furniture, RacingGadgets.com and other donors will also be sold to benefit The B+ Foundation to assist them in the fight against childhood cancer.
