Fine Friday for Frisselle Racing at Mid-Ohio

20 June 08- (Lexington, OH) Frisselle Racing enjoyed a strong opening day in practice and qualifying for the EMCO Gears Classic on Friday with both Burt and Brian getting round seven of the Rolex Sports Car Series season off to a fast start.

Brian Frisselle and AIM Autosport co-driver Mark Wilkins opened up the weekend with the No. 61 Ford-Riley machine leading the opening two practice sessions. Wilkins then kept the AIM Autosport 2008 qualifying record intact with yet another top-five spot on the grid by taking third with a fast lap time of 1:18.109-seconds.

"Mark did an awesome job, but I know he is pretty disappointed just because we feel like we could have been on the pole if the traffic had played out differently," said Brian. "But we know we have a really fast car for the race tomorrow, so that's the most important thing. AIM is doing another great job this weekend, and hopefully we can finally take a podium this season!"

On the other side of the Frisselle Racing program, Burt was also pleased with the performance of both his race car, the No. 47 CDOC Ford-Dallara prepared by Doran Racing, and his teammate, as Ricky Taylor has impressed yet again in his first Rolex outing in a Dallara. The CDOC 47 will start the race from seventh after Taylor netted a fast lap time of 1:19.106 seconds on Friday.

"We are on a great path this with car and the progression we've made set-up wise so far today," said Burt. "We tried some things for the qualifying session, and the car reacted exactly as the Doran Racing engineers were hoping it would, so they were really encouraged. We are learning more and more every time this car goes out and it's been a good start. It's been great working with Ricky and we're impressed with how quickly he's adapted to this car, so we feel like we should be in a competitive position tomorrow."

"You always feel pressure, but it also helps drive you to perform," said Taylor, who not only had to adopt to the Dallara, but had to do so on a new track as he hadn't even seen the Mid-Ohio track before the race weekend opened up. "We've been picking up speed all day and while I was hoping to be a little bit further up here in qualifying, I feel like we have a good car. I'm really looking forward to getting a little more time in the car tomorrow to keep making progress with our set up, and hopefully we can just have a fast clean race tomorrow."
