MRN to broadcast Rolex 24 At Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 1, 2001) - Motor Racing Network (MRN) Radio will broadcast live coverage of the Rolex 24 At Daytona to more than 120 of its affiliates, Feb. 3-4. MRN Radio will begin its live coverage of the event Saturday, Feb. 3 at 12:30 p.m. ET, and will have live updates throughout the race before rejoining it during Sunday's final laps.

Veteran pit broadcaster Winston Kelley will move into the broadcast booth for the race, where he will be joined by another veteran broadcaster, Joe Moore, who has covered the Rolex 24 At Daytona for the last 12 years.

"The number of affiliates broadcasting this year's coverage of the Rolex 24 At Daytona has risen as more stations begin to accept the piece of the Speed Weeks puzzle that the race plays," MRN Radio General Manager David Hyatt said. "This race is a great way for all race fans to get their first taste of racing from Daytona leading into Speed Weeks, and to get it from familiar voices."

MRN Radio will have live updates at 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and at 12:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, before returning live during the closing laps of the race at 12:30 p.m. for the finish and event wrap-up. All times are Eastern Standard Time.

Currently, 123 affiliates are scheduled to air the Rolex 24 At Daytona broadcast, with MRN Radio expecting the number to rise over 150 by Saturday.
