Gainesville, GA (December 30, 2008) - Seasons Greetings friends! We hope your holidays have been wonderful so far. We would like to update you on Randy's racing plans for the 2009 season. Although not all plans are finalized, we do have some news. Coming off his second World Challenge GT Championship with K-Pax/3R Racing, Randy will be rejoining the team to defend his title in 2009. There will be some dramatic changes to the team, soon to be announced, that will make Randy's season a very interesting and challenging one. Stay tuned.
Randy will not be returning to the APR Motorsport Volkswagen team this season. He is grateful for the experiences that he had and the friendships he made with the team. Randy is still looking at possibilities to augment his World Challenge GT series schedule, possibly in Rolex or Koni.
In an interesting development, Randy will be racing in the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona this January 24-25 in the #26 Porsche 911 GT3 fielded by an up and coming team Gotham Competition. Owned by brothers Jerome and Joe Jacalone, Gotham Competition ran five Rolex races in 2008. As a private team, they are looking to improve their results and have hired Randy as a coach, set-up specialist and driver. Jerome, an art dealer from New York City, and Joe, an auto repair shop owner from Saint Augustine, FL, will co-drive, with a fourth driver to be named soon. This is currently a one race deal.
While all plans have not yet been finalized, 2009 will surely be an interesting and exciting year for Randy. We will send updates as they happen. We wish everyone a happy and healthy new year!
Thanks for following friends!
