Bailey and Musser Gear Up for Grand Am Cup weekend
South Lake, Texas- Brian Bailey has been looking forward to returning to Grand Am Cup race action since his last outing with the Autometrics Team at Laguna Seca. This coming weekend at the Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama he joins new teammate, fellow Texan Jordon Musser. Musser, the 3-time defending Rotax National Karting Champion completed a successful test with the team at Roebling Road. Since the test the Autometrics Team has installed a new Porsche engine in the 996 body. "I am excited about returning to the track this weekend with Jordon," stated Bailey. "The team has done a great job preparing the car and we are ready."
Not only does the Porsche 996 have a new engine but the team welcomes a new look to the car's livery. Burger King of Houston has joined the team for the remainder of the season as a sponsor and will be joining current sponsor Park Place Porsche of Dallas, Texas. "Burger King and I are looking forward to our first race with Brian and the Autometrics Team," said Musser.
The Autometrics Team will arrive in Birmingham on Wednesday to setup for pre-race testing. The official weekend race event begins on Friday. "We are very optimistic about this weekend's race," said Bailey. The 200 mile race will run on the 2.3 mile, 16 turn road course at Barber Motorsports Park. The race will be shown on The SPEED Channel (check your local listings) or you can follow the action LIVE on the World Wide Web at www.grandamerican.com.
