2005 Rolex 24 GT winner Shawn Price joins the Bodymotion Racing Grand Am Cup Team for 2006

Ocean, NJ- The Bodymotion Racing Team enters their sophomore season in the highly competitive Grand Am Cup Series with experience and a new co-driver. Canadian Shawn Price, winner of the 2005 Rolex 24 GT class in the Farnbacher-Loles Porsche GT3-Cup entry, has signed to race the entire 2006 Grand Am Cup season with Bodymotion Racing. Bodymotion Racing had an excellent first year racing in the top ten in points for the majority of the season until missing the Mid-Ohio and Phoenix rounds. The team rebounded to finish in 8th place at the season finale at the Virginia International Raceway.

"We are thrilled to have the talent that Shawn brings to our driver lineup and team," said team owner and co-driver Michael Bavaro. The team is excited about the first race of the new year next week in Daytona Beach. The Porsche 997 is currently being prepared in the team's New Jersey based facilities. "Our goal for this season is to win races and contest for the GS class championship," stated Bavaro. The team will compete in the Daytona race in Porsche white with sponsorship from Bodymotion Inc. and Das Sport Ultrafine Rollbars and Cages. The #21 is also supported by suppliers; Cyntex Performance Tuning, CDOC, Sikkens, Bosch, Fikse, Fabspeed, JRZ America, Torco Oil, Schneider & Nelson Porsche, Seaboard Welding and SSF Auto Parts.

"I am of course thrilled and very proud to have been selected by Bodymotion Racing to contest the Grand Am Cup Championship," stated Price. "I am looking forward to returning to Daytona where I was able to win the Rolex 24 last year in the GT class. The Bodymotion Team is fantastic and I could see from my first test that we would achieve that rare chemistry necessary to advance our championship hopes over the course of the season. Not one person on the team approaches this as a job as with some of the larger teams. Everyone is on the team by choice. This will allow us to achieve significant results, advance the development of the car and weather any adversity. In the end we have total alignment of our objectives fueled by passion, love of motor racing and a commitment to win," exclaimed Price.

Shawn Price brings an extensive racing background to the Bodymotion Racing Team. Along with his Rolex 24 GT win in 2005, Price competed in the inaugural season of the IMSA GT3 Porsche Cup Challenge and grabbed a 2nd place finish at Road Atlanta. Car racing is not his only racing background. He has an exceptional motorcycle racing background. In 2003 he had the best finishing position of any motorcyclist from the Americas in the Paris-Dakar Rally and in 2002 he won the Baja 1000 in the motorcycle 250cc and greater class. "I am excited to join the Grand Am Cup Series which has such a vast variety of racing champions competing against one another," said Price. Shawn is supported in his racing by personal sponsors; Savvion (a global leader in business process management), Centennial Motorsports, CDOC and Price Motorsports, LLC. Shawn is also the President and CEO of Savvion.
