Synergy Racing Readies for Rolex 24 At Daytona at Pre-Season Testing

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 6, 2006) -- Synergy Racing has six Porsche-powered entries at Grand American Road Racing Association pre-season testing at Daytona International Speedway this week, including its No. 8 Rx.com Porsche-powered Daytona Prototype, four GT Porsches led by the No. 80 SHOES FOR CREWS® Porsche, and the Grand-Am Cup Series No. 81 Porsche 997.

Frisselles, Huisman continue Porsche power shakedown Brothers Burt and Brian Frisselle, of Kihei, Hawaii, and their Rolex 24 At Daytona co-driver Patrick Huisman, of The Netherlands, continue the shakedown of the No. 8 Rx.com Daytona Prototype with its new Porsche power plant.

"Today we made a lot more progress," said Burt Frisselle. "We're getting the car closer. Everything is encouraging. The car is not doing anything poorly. Everything is moving in the right direction and that is what we're here for---three days of testing to iron out all the bugs. This is one of the hardest endurance races in the world, so the most important thing is to make a car that's easy to drive, that's fast and can last. That's what we're focusing on. We're not really worried right now about the outright speed, because we know we're going to have it when we need it."

Keen gets settled into SHOES FOR CREWS® Porsche Leh Keen, of Dublin Ga., saw his lap times in the No. 80 SHOES FOR CREWS® Porsche improve with every lap he took around Daytona International Speedway on Friday. Teammate David Murry, Atlanta, Ga., spent a good portion of the day behind the wheel setting up the car, while Keen began to familiarize himself with the Porsche.

"David has put together a more aggressive set-up than I'm used it, but I really like it because the car is so fast," said 22-year-old Keen. "With each turn, I settled into the SHOES FOR CREWS® Porsche more and more, and on each and every lap I found more speed. My final lap of the day was my fast lap of the weekend. I feel confident that I'll be close to 100 percent on Saturday."

Martini Porsche among quickest in Grand-Am Cup The No. 81 Martini Porsche 997 turned one of the quickest Grand-Am Cup Series laps of the test thus far on Friday posting a 2:03.430 lap at 103.832 mph around Daytona's 3.56-mile road course. The lap was the second quickest of the morning test session and is the sixth fastest thus far among the 54 Grand-Am Cup entries.

Team Seattle prepares for 10th anniversary run Team Seattle, the charitable racing group that raises money for Seattle Children's Hospital during the Rolex 24 At Daytona, continues its preparation for its 10th anniversary run at Daytona later this month. Eight drivers will pilot the pair of Team Seattle Porsches in the GT class as they raise money with each lap they complete during the race.

Team Seattle drivers testing at Daytona this week include Don Kitch Jr. of Bellevue Wash., Chris Pennington of Redmond, Wash., Don Gagne of Redmond, Wash., and Chris Pallis of Mercer Island, Wash., in the No. 86 entry and David Gaylord of Graham, Wash., Wes Hill of Bellevue, Wash., Ken Hill of Snohornish, Wash., and Will Diefenbach of Kirkland, Wash. in the No. 87 Porsche.

Trio of drivers join Marshall brothers for Rolex 24 A trio of drivers have joined brothers Steve and Danny Marshall, of Blacksburg and Danville, Va., this week in preparing the No. 80 Porsche GT3 Cup for the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Hal Prewitt of Boca Raton, Fla., John Pew of North Palm Beach, Fla. and Ben McCrackin of Corpus Christi, Texas are slated to join the Synergy Racing co-owners for the Rolex 24 At Daytona later this month.
