GRE Racing to campaign Porsches in Grand American Rolex Series and Grand-Am Cup

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. (January 16, 2004) - Just one month after its 1-2 finish in the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill, GRE Racing today announced it will field a pair of Glenn Yee Motorsports-prepared Porsches in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series and Grand-Am Cup in 2004.

Spearheading the effort is owner/driver Geoff Escalette, who along with co-driver and Rolex Series regular Hugh Plumb, scored one podium and three top-10 finishes in four Grand-Am Cup events last season. For 2004, this duo will campaign a Porsche 996 in the Grand Sports class of Grand-Am Cup and a Porsche GT3 Cup in the SGS class of the Rolex Sports Car Series.

Joining GRE Racing for the Rolex 24 at Daytona are two drivers who also raced with the team at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Trans-Am-winning driver Mike Lewis and Road & Track Magazine senior editor, Kim Wolfkill, will help pilot the #63 Porsche GT3 Cup during Daytona's historic 24 hour event.

"It's great going into Daytona with a group of people who already share some history together," said team owner/driver Geoff Escalette. "The crew, the drivers, everyone, we're all very close and work well as a team. And between Hugh and Kim's previous Rolex 24 experience, Mike's speed and my dedication, I'm optimistic we'll be in good shape come Sunday afternoon."

Following their victory at Thunderhill, the team heads into Daytona on a positive note. Said team manager, Glenn Yee, "We used the Thunderhill race as an extended test that ended up going better than we expected. We're hopeful we can carry that same momentum though the entire 24 hours. The competition will certainly be tough, but we intend to be there at the end."

GRE Racing is also proud to announce Power Porsche Newport Beach (PPNB) as the title sponsor for the 2004 Grand-Am season. One of America's premier Porsche dealerships, Power Porsche Newport Beach is a member of the Power Group, southern California's largest dealer group with a network of 33 dealers. The Power Group is part of AutoNation (NYSE: AN), the largest online and on-site retailer of new and used vehicles in America.

Said Escalette, "I've been a Power Porsche Newport Beach customer for years and am very excited to welcome them on board as the team's main sponsor. The level of professionalism PPNB exhibits with its customers closely mirrors what we do with the race team. Bringing these two organizations together is an excellent fit and a great way to kick off the 2004 season."

GRE Racing's other sponsors include Mechanix Wear, the leader in protective mechanic's gloves, Eibach Springs, K&N Performance Filters, Oakley, Motul lubricants, Stuttgart Performance and Einszett Car Care Systeme.
