ASC Motorsports Porsche Team Headed for Homestead

Tiffin, Ohio -- April 10, 2007 Following a long layoff since the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series season-opener in Daytona, ASC Motorsports is headed for Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 400 kilometer, 109 lap race is scheduled take the green flag Sunday, April 15th at 1:45 PM.

The team will run both of its GS Class Porsche 996s at Homestead. Team owner Zach Arnold of Tiffin, Ohio will team with Tanner Baker of Sebring, Florida in the #44 Porsche, while Rene Robichaud of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jason Workman of Atlanta, Georgia will co-drive the #43 Porsche. Both cars will be sponsored by Arnold Machine, Inc. and ascmotorsports.com.

While preparing the cars for the trip to Florida, Arnold discussed the team's readiness to get back in competition: "We are looking forward to the event after being off way too long since Daytona. The cars are in good shape and hopefully we'll have something for the Mustangs and BMWs."

After Homestead, ASC Motorsports returns to action just one week later for the first-ever race at the new 1.3 mile Iowa Speedway in De Moines, Iowa. Arnold and Robichaud will share the driving duties in one car and Arnold mentioned that the short length of the new track could be well-suited to the handling characteristics of the team's Porsches. The driver lineup for the second car has not yet been announced. The 400 kilometer, 192 lap race is scheduled for Saturday, April 21st at 3:30 PM.
