Workman To Drive Porsche 996 at Homestead-Miami

Atlanta, GA (April 12, 2007): As varied and extensive as Jason Workman's racing career has been, round two of the 2007 Koni Challenge event at Homestead-Miami Raceway on April 13-15 represents a first in his career. Workman will drive a Porsche for the first time ever in competition, co-driving an ASC Motorsports Porsche 996 with co-driver Rene Robichaud. Workman is known for his wide ranging experience from open-wheel formula cars competing in races here in the USA as well as Europe before turning his attention to sports cars with driving duties in prototypes including Grand-Am Daytona Prototypes in the Rolex Series. In addition, Workman has competed in Ford Mustangs, BMW M3s, Corvettes as well as an array of cars from his driving duties with numerous driving schools and track-day demonstration sessions.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to finally drive a Porsche," noted Workman. "There are not many manufacturers in the world with a more impressive competition record than Porsche and I look forward to experiencing the thrill as well as the competitive advantage that is often found behind the wheel of this historic brand! I want to thank Zach Arnold for providing me with the opportunity to get a crack at driving a Porsche racing car."

Make no mistake; Workman's number 43 Grand Sport (GS) class Porsche 996 won't be the only one in the field. More than 15 other Porsches will race against a full grid of BMW, Mustang, Nissan and Pontiac GTO. The Street Tuner (ST) class race preceding the GS event features Dodge, Mazda, Honda, Acura, Chevrolet, BMW, Subaru, VW and MINI Cooper. A massive total of 45 GS and 37 ST entries will make up the Koni Challenge Series event.

"It is an incredibly varied and competitive field," added Workman. "I'm hoping that we can keep ourselves in contention for a good finish but there are so many fast cars, including the other Porsches out there and Mustangs, GTOs and BMWs. It should be a very interesting and fun race!"

The Grand American Koni Challenge Series will next meet at Iowa Speedway on April 20-22.
