SCC: Julien, Dumoulin points lead trimmed

Nonnamakers increase lead in GS II.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 25, 2003) -- Despite a fourth-place finish in theThe Glen Grand Sport 250 at Watkins Glen International last weekend, drivers Robert Julien and Jean-Francois Dumoulin remain at the top of the driver point standings. In the latest Grand-Am Cup Series point standings, 13 points separate the drivers of the Doncaster Racing #119 Porsche GT3 Cup from Michael Levitas.

Levitas, driver of the TPC Racing #18 Porsche, continued his winning ways by finishing first in The Glen Grand Sport 250 with co-driver Randy Pobst. Powell Motorsports #11 Corvette drivers Devon Powell and Doug Goad moved into fourth place despite their ninth-place finish at The Glen.

Doncaster's #119 Porsche also maintained its top position in the team owner standings. TPC Racing's #18 Porsche remained in second, followed by Powell Motorsports' #11, which moved up to third from its previous position of fourth.

Joe and Wayne Nonnamaker increased their lead in the Grand Sport II driver standings. The father-son duo finished second in last weekend's race, and they now hold lead a 10-point lead. Last weekend's race winner, Michael Baughman, has moved to third place.

In team owner points, the Michael Baughman Racing #46 Firebird jumped two spots to claim the lead. The Planet Motorsports #41 Porsche slipped to second and trails the leader by only one point. The Automatic Racing #09 BMW dropped to third after an early exit from the race at The Glen.

Honda of America Racing Team #00 Acura RSX-S drivers Pete Halsmer and John Schmitt increased their lead to 24 points in the Sport Touring I driver standings after finishing second in The Glen Sport Touring 250. Team Lexus' Andy Lally and Chuck Goldsborough are tied for third.

The Team Lexus #0 IS300 is still in first place in ST I team owners standings, but their lead has been trimmed to only four points by the TC Kline Racing #12 BMW Z4, which took over the second-place position after its win at The Glen. The Honda of America Racing Team #00 rounds out the top three.

Bob Beede maintained his position as the leader of the Sports Touring II driver point standings and increased his advantage to six points over Howie Liebengood and Will Nonnamaker, who are tied for second.

The ST II team owner point standings saw little change. The Bill Fenton Motorsports #27 Acura Integra LS kept its first-place position with 196 points, while the HRPworld.com #43 Acura Integra LS trails by six points.

In the manufacturer point standings, Porsche increased its lead from 29 to 40 points as it continues to dominate the Grand Sport I class. In GS II, BMW and Porsche switched places, with Porsche now in first place leading BMW by two points. Acura increased its lead to 10 points over Lexus in ST I, while in ST II, Acura has a commanding 40-point lead over second-place Chevrolet.
