BENICIA, Calif. -- Thomas Lepper, owner and one of Team Cobalt California's drivers, will re-unite with his son Jeff in Chevrolet's Cobalt SS Supercharged car No. 48 in The Grand American Cup series, ST class, at Mazda's Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday.

This will be the first time the Leppers have driven together since they secured the championship for the United States Touring Car Championship in 2004.

"I can't wait to drive with my dad again," Jeff Lepper said. "We drive together very well and we have been driving at Laguna Seca for years".

Thomas Lepper also anticipates a great race for car No. 48 at Laguna.

"Jeff and I know this track like the back of our hands," Thomas Lepper said. "We should have an advantage over the cars that primarily race the eastern tracks".

Jeff Lepper drove at the Grand American Cup season opener at Daytona International Raceway with rookie driver VJ Mirzayan of Fresno, Calif. VJ will be driving the team's No. 98 car with Jack Mardikian. This will be their second Grand American Cup race in the series.

With the technical assistance of GM Performance Division, Team Cobalt California's No. 98 and 48 cars finished fourth and ninth respectively in ST Class at Virginia International Raceway in April.

"We were very proud of that finish" Thomas Lepper said. "The weather was not on our side and the double yellow flags were relentless. The forecast services promise nice warm California weather for this weekend and we are ready to show off our cars, our crew, and our drivers".

Team Cobalt California would also like to welcome The Gem Restaurant (www.gemrestaurant.com) as one of our new sponsors. Josh Lelah the owner of Gem will be supplying our meals at the track as well as hosting a team dinner on Friday night.

Team Cobalt California is sponsored by Red Line Oil, The Gem Restaurant, Clutch Masters, Sparco, K & N Air Filters, Cobalt Friction, Vibrant Performance, and Thomas Lepper Associates. Additional team supporters will be announced soon.
