SCC: Lime Rock: Cooper MacNeil preview
Hinsdale, IL - It was announced today, that SCCA National SafeRacer Touring 2 front runner Cooper MacNeil will participate in his first GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT. May 28 - 29, 2010.
Hinsdale, IL - It was announced today, that SCCA National SafeRacer Touring 2 front runner Cooper MacNeil will participate in his first GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT. May 28 - 29, 2010. MacNeil comes fresh off a double SCCA National race weekend sweep at Road America in Touring 2.
MacNeil will partner fellow Grand Am veteran Gunther Schaldach in a Fall-Line Motorsports prepared BMW E46, similar to the car MacNeil piloted at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill in 2009. In addition, MacNeil becomes one of the youngest driver's in series history at a mere 17 years old.
"I'm super fortunate to be running with a top group like Fall-Line Motorsports at my first Grand Am race. I have never been to Lime Rock before but I am really excited to drive the No. 47 Fall-Line/Weathertech.com/LaLa Motorsport E46 BMW M3. The track should favor the tighter and more agile E46 chassis. I want to thank WeatherTech, Fall-Line and my supporters." MacNeil stated in a phone interview Monday morning.
Cooper MacNeil is a second generation racer set to make a name for himself in sports car racing during the 2010 season.
