SCC: Lime Rock: TRG preview

TRG - Ready to take it to the Rock!

Petaluma, Ca. (May 24, 2007) -After dominating with the top two spots in GT and a 2nd place podium in the GS class at the US Sportscar Invitational at Laguna Seca, the TRG Team will now make a full assault at the historic Lime Rock Park in beautiful upstate Connecticut. The teams and drivers loaded up and headed east for Monday's Round 6, the Grand-Am GT Classic at Lime Rock Park.

With the momentum after Laguna Seca, the TRG Porsches are headed cross-country in hopes of continuing their success. This stop at Lime Rock will be a GT/GS only stand alone race, a Memorial day weekend Sportscar tradition at the beautiful circuit.

The GT class saw its fourth different winner in five races in last Saturday's U.S. Sports Car Invitational, when Andy Lally and RJ Valentine co-drove their No. 66 CRG/TRG Porsche GT3 to the victory over their teammates Ross Smith and Dan DiLeo in the No. 65 Maxwell Paper/TRG Porsche GT3.

The victory for Lally and Valentine gives the duo "plenty of steam" heading to a "hometown" event for each driver. Lally is a native of Northport, N.Y. on Long Island, while Valentine hails from Hingham, Mass. and both would love nothing more than to score a second consecutive victory at Lime Rock Park as this team was also the winner of last years event.

The #67 Netts/TRG Porsche piloted by Mark Greenberg and Spencer Pumpelly will also be competing this weekend. The race will be run Monday with weather looking to be sunny and in the high 70's.

Team Owner Kevin Buckler had this to say. "A 1-2 finish simply doesn't happen very often in professional racing and I couldn't be prouder of our team after last weekends performance. The funny thing is, that is exactly what we did last year at Lime Rock so we for sure have our sights set on a repeat. RJ and Andy collectively have more laps here than I can imagine, and really keep your eyes on our car 67 this weekend. Mark Greenberg is really fast here and paired with Spencer, they could be one of the favorites for this weekends classic event."

TRG is also fielding 4 Grand Sport Porsches this weekend with the hope of another run at the podium and possibly the teams first victory.

After coming off a second-place performance for Lally and his No. 41 co-driver Ted Ballou the duo are looking to move up in the points standing. They are charged to take it to the competition.

Along with the TRG/Mitchell Rubber car #41 will be the TRG/Digitrust/Adams Polish car No. 39 piloted by the young talented drivers Duncan Ende and Grant Maiman. Also competing will be young professional driver Scott Schroeder and TRG standout John Bibbo in the #40 TRG/Cohen Financial/Carrera Design Porsche 997 as well as the duo of rising star Serge Glazunov and British Carrera Cup driver, Matt Harris in the 42 car.

"This will be our first visit to Lime Rock with the Koni Challenge cars but I know that we will be competitive right out of the box" commented Buckler. "Our 997 Porsches have gotten faster at every event and we have a stellar group of drivers for this weekends race. Our crew has worked so hard on the development of these cars and we saw the results last weekend. We are going to Lime Rock looking for our first win."
