Owen Trinkler 2010 Season Preview

Owen Trinkler and his RSR teammates finished out the 2009 racing season with several strong runs in the second half of the season, which included putting his car in Pole Position for the Trois-Riveries and Virginia International Raceway rounds of the series and led in three races.

Going into the 2010 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season the team is looking to build on what they learned and developed on the teams' ST class Mini Cooper S's and have taken a number of steps to ensure that happens. In the offseason the team has joined forces with one of the top GS class teams in Automatic Racing for a sharing of resources in an effort to make both teams that much better. This is almost a coming home of sorts for Owen as he drove for the Automatic team in the 2007 racing season.

Trinkler himself has even stepped up his involvement in the team has he is not only the teams development driver and driver coach, but now has accepted the role of Team Manager. The new responsibilities are being looked at as a challenge for the sports car veteran. "I'm really excited about the season; I've really enjoyed working with the RSR Motorsports team and Team Owner Randy Smalley these past few seasons. The continued development of our cars and team as a whole will come out in the end when the checker drops, and we can only hope that leads to a few wins in 2010" Trinkler continues; "Randy is putting a lot of faith in me to do all I can to get this team into winners circle and we all realize that takes as much commitment to the overall effort off the track and behind the scenes as it does behind the wheel and that's exactly what I'm intending to do."
