SEBASTIEN AND PATRICK BOURDAIS TO RACE FORD MUSTANG IN GRAND AM CUP 200

DEARBORN, Mich., January 17, 2006 -- The son-and-father duo of Sebastien and Patrick Bourdais will compete as teammates on January 28 at Daytona International Speedway in the 2006 Grand Am season-opening Grand-Am Cup 200. Both Bourdais have competed -- and been successful -- in a number of different race cars on a number of different types of race tracks.

The Bourdais' latest ride: a Ford Mustang FR500C.

This special Grand Am Cup team entry -- a gift from Ford Racing for winning the Champ Car title - will feature 2005 Champ Car World Series Champion Sebastien Bourdais and his father, eight-time LeMans participant and endurance specialist Patrick Bourdais.

The team will drive a Ford Racing FR500C Mustang fielded by Multimatic Motorsports, which in 2005 campaigned the car that won the Grand Am Cup GS Championship with drivers Scott Maxwell and David Empringham.

For Sebastien, racing has been a case of "like father, like son." "I guess the best way to describe it is that he was the one that really got me involved in racing," Sebastien said. "He was a racer himself. I pretty much grew up at the race track. That was the main reason I wanted to drive because when you're a kid you see things that you want to try for yourself. That's pretty much how everything started."

"Sebastien has received many awards in recognition of his many championships over the years, but we wanted to offer him something truly unique that he'd be sure to remember," said Dan Davis, director of Ford Racing Technology. "Having the chance to spend time with your father doing something you both love is something I think we all can appreciate. I can assure you that they'll have a very fast Mustang and a great team campaigning the car. All they have to do is go out and have fun -- and I'm sure they will."

Sebastien Bourdais is fresh off capturing back-to-back (2004-2005) championships in the Champ Car World Series. In 2005, Bourdais, driving the No. 1 McDonald's Ford-Lola-Bridgestone, won six races and five poles, both series' bests, and earned podium finishes in seven of 13 Champ Car races. Last year at Daytona in the Rolex 24, Sebastien teamed with his Champ Car team owner Paul Newman, Michael Brockman and Cristiano Da Matta in a Ford powered Crawford Daytona Prototype.

Patrick Bourdais won the 1991 French Renault Clio Cup Championship. He is an eight-time LeMans participant. For the past two years he has driven at LeMans for the Panoz Motor Sports team.
