With the season coming to a close, Racers Edge Motorsports Team Owner Jon Mirachi is looking to finish the year off on a high note. This weekends' driving lineup will be Doug Peterson, Jose Armengol and Daniel Herrington. Peterson has been in the car already this season and has shown the pace to put and keep the #30 entry at the front of the Grand Am Rolex GT field. "We expect to be really competitive at Miller. We've got three great drivers who all know the track well and this circuit layout suits our Mazda RX-8. It'll be 1000 kilometers of non-stop action" mentions Mirachi.

Armengol, making the move up to Rolex competition from Koni Challenge is following the mold Grand Am was looking forward to when putting the two series' together. Jose had driven the Speedsource Koni Challenge Mazda RX- 8 with success thus far, and both he and the team thought staying with the Mazda brand and the bolstered version of his Koni car would be a natural move forward in his progress as a driver. Of the opportunity Armengol states: "This is truly a fantastic opportunity for me. I'm really excited to be able to take the step up to Rolex GT and join Racer's Edge for the season ending SunRichGourmet.com 1000. I was very impressed with every aspect of the team at our initial meeting at Daytona during the Grand-Am open house. Jon Mirachi and the entire Racer's Edge crew were fantastic to work with. Their professionalism, their passion for the sport and desire to do as well as possible became apparent to me very quickly. Also readily apparent was that their professionalism and desire didn't interfere with the ability to keep things light and fun in the garage and pit lane."

Rounding out the lineup for the first time with this team and in the RX-8 race car is open wheel ace Daniel Herrington. Herrington is no newcomer to the series or the Mazda brand however, having competed very successfully in the Star Mazda series before turning his talents over to sports cars. "I'm really excited about this opportunity to race with Racers Edge in their Mazda RX-8. This team and package have proven to be fast and I know we can go out and have a strong showing at Miller Motorsports Park. It has been a while since I've driven in Grand Am but have had success in the past here, and I'm looking forward to returning to endurance racing!" states the exuberant up-and-coming driver, a sentiment shared by his co-driver Armengol "! I am looking forward to my Rolex Series debut at Utah with Racer's Edge and I'm confident that together we can achieve a solid result and get off to a great start, even as the '08 season winds to a close."
