APR Motorsport Is Proud To Announce The Signing Of Brian Lock For Bosch Twin Six Hour At VIR

Opelika, AL- APR Motorsport has signed Brian Lock to drive the #181 Volkswagen GTI with Randy Pobst for the Bosch Twin Six Hour at Virginia International Raceway this Sunday.

Lock, who is 25 years old and hales from Scotts Valley, CA, started his career in touring cars in 2003 in the NASA series, eventually moving to US Touring Car and then on to Grand Am Cup and KONI Challenge. Brian holds multiple track records at road courses across America, and has over 25 podium finishes in five years of racing. In 2005, Brian took "Rookie of the Year" in US Touring Car.

Lock, who is currently in his third season of KONI Challenge, is as excited to join the team as APR is to have him, saying: "From the moment I saw APR's extremely powerful presence in the paddock, let alone their driver lineup, I was interested in being involved with the program. To get a chance to co-drive with Randy Pobst was an amazing opportunity I did not expect."

Lock went on to add: "My family race team, GOTO:Racing, has a lot of history in the KONI Challenge, being the first team to debut the Subaru Legacy GT with great results. I have had extremely good results in the past on a limited schedule, and am excited about building relationships that could lead to me competing for a championship in 2009."

On VIR, Lock commented: "I haven0xaf34 raced at VIR before, but I greatly anticipate the challenge and fun it should be. Every driver I talk to tells me it is either their first or second favorite track in North America. I've spent hours driving VIR on GTR2 and I can't wait to go through the uphill esses for real!"

APR Motorsport Team Principle Stephen Hooks said about Brian: "Brian0xaf33 experience and results speak for themselves. We are truly happy to have him on our team and we have total confidence in his abilities. I know I speak for the team when I say it would be a great intro for everyone if Brian and Randy wound up on the podium this weekend!"

The Bosch Twin Six Hour ST class race starts at 2pm Eastern time, this Saturday, October 4, 2008.
