Team Sahlen set to run 5 cars in Virginia 6 Hour Season Finale

Team Sahlen is set to enter 5 cars in this weekend's Grand-Am Cup season finale at Virginia International Raceway. These 5 cars will place Team Sahlen as the Top Entrant with 40 in the Grand-Am Cup. This marks the fourth straight year dating back to 2003. Since the inaugural 2002 season of Grand-Am Cup, the team has accumulated 205 entries in the series.

Driving both the #42 Porsche in Saturday's GS race and the #41 Dodge in Sunday's ST race will be Joe Sahlen and Will Nonnamaker. The duo has driven together in 16 races this season.

"It has been a fun year for the two of us. All of the races have given us a lot of experience, as we transition next year full time into the ROLEX GT series." - states Joe Sahlen

Driving the #40 Porsche for Team Sahlen will the Father / Son duo of Jim and Bob Michaelian. The two drivers shared a Ford Mustang at the season opener at Daytona.

"Jim has driven with us in both the ROLEX 24 Hours and the Sahlen 6 Hours. We are excited to have both Father and Son in our cars here at Virginia. I am sure they will do very well over the 6 hour race." - states Team Sahlen's Joe Nonnamaker

Mike Solley and Zach Arnold will be paired together for the first time in the #43 Team Sahlen Porsche. Both drivers have lots of long endurance experience in the ROLEX series which should be to their advantage in this 6 hour race.

Sitting in 8th place in the Team Championship, the Team Sahlen #44 will be co-driven by the 2003 GS driver champions - Joe & Wayne Nonnamaker.

"Our team has had some very good luck at VIR over the years. We have accumulated 5 victories and 6 podiums. The whole crew has been working hard and we are looking forward to this season finale" - states Team Sahlen Crew Chief Mike Thomas
