Schumacher Racing Daytona 24 entry filed

Schumacher Porsche will look just "Champion" in round-the-clock Daytona race.

Champion Porsche's distinctive design will adorn the Schumacher Racing Porsche GT3 RS entry which contests the Daytona 24 Hours next month (1-2 February).

Americans Larry Schumacher and Martin Snow will be joined by German duo Lucas Luhr and Sascha Maassen for the annual round-the-clock Florida race in the Champion-sponsored Porsche.

Champion Porsche is the largest volume Porsche dealer in the world and the road-going version of the stunning GT3, as well as the new Porsche Cayenne, can be viewed at Champion's award-winning showrooms in Pompano Beach this Spring.

Various Porsche derivatives have been campaigned by Champion Racing since 1993 while a host of world famous drivers including Hans Stuck, Bob Wollek, Thierry Boutsen, Juan Fangio II, Allan McNish and Hurley Haywood, helped Champion become synonymous with the legendary Porsche marque.

Dave Maraj, who established Champion Porsche in 1988, commented: "My company has been selling and racing Porsche for over 15 years. I've known Larry Schumacher for a long time and it's good to be a part of his Daytona effort. He's brought together a fantastic driver squad and the famed reliability and speed of the GT3 should put them in with a great chance of class honours."

Team Principal Schumacher (66), is from Cincinnati, Ohio, while Martin Snow (41), is out of Pleasant Grove, Utah. The Schumacher Racing prepared and entered Porsche GT3 RS, which contested selected Grand Am and ALMS events last year, will appear in a distinctive red, black and silver livery at Daytona courtesy of sponsor Champion Porsche.
